If you weren't at our March Good Morning Shoreline, here's a bit of what you missed:Lumin Laundry Ribbon CuttingThe Shoreline Chamber of Commerce and Chamber President Lara Grauer welcomed Lumin Laundry to Shoreline with a Ribbon Cutting on Friday, March 22nd. See the Ribbon Cutting:Lumin Laundry owner, Arne Bjorkelo, welcomed guests and thanked his staff, family, friends and the contractors who helped make the facility so amazing. Shoreline Mayor Chris Roberts also spoke to attendees and welcomed Lumin Laundry to the Ballinger neighborhood of Shoreline. Lumin Laundry is located at 20154 Ballinger Way NE, Shoreline. March Chamber LuncheonThe Chamber was delighted to welcome Dr. Susana Reyes to our March Chamber Luncheon, held at the Shoreline/Lake Forest Park Senior Center on Wednesday, March 13th. Dr. Reyes, the Superintendent of the Shoreline School District provided an update on Shoreline School District funding and projections, which includes meeting the challenges of declining enrollment and increasing costs. Reyes also shared the many great programs that the district supports for students and the active involvement of their student council in the decision-making process. Membership Chair, Cindy St. Mary recognized our New and Renewing Chamber Members and those present had the opportunity to share a brief overview of their business with the group. Chamber Vice President, Kevin Barrett provided updates on the Chamber’s comprehensive member polling program, the upcoming Website/Newsletter Ads program, the Lumin Laundry Ribbon Cutting scheduled for March 22 and location change for the Good Morning Shoreline events in March and April. | Join Us for Upcoming Chamber Events
Economic Insights After Hours EventThe Shoreline Chamber was delighted to welcome Chamber Members and guests to our Economic Insights After Hours Event on Monday, March 4th at Shoreline Community College. Speakers Nathan Daum, Economic Development Manager for the City of Shoreline and Elliott Krivenko, Director of Market Analytics at CoStar provided attendees an informing and engaging event. Daum provided an overview of the economic outlook in Shoreline, including the opening of light rail, upgrading of the I5/145th St interchange, changes to Shoreline Center and the addition of Multi-Family units throughout the city. Krivenko shared a broader economic outlook for King, Pierce and Snohomish County and proclaimed Shoreline as "one of the fastest growing cities" in that region. He also shared a view to influences in population, housing, commercial, retail and industrial growth. Special gratitude is extended to Chamber Member Lauren Hadley and Shoreline Community College for generously offering the venue. We appreciate the efforts of Chamber Past President Jack Malek in coordinating the speakers. A heartfelt acknowledgment goes to Members Rose Werelus and Joe Montero of Vault 177/Spin Alley, as well as Member Navi's Catering. Their contributions greatly enriched this event. |
