Hero’s Café is a Veteran Service program that started several years ago in other States.

Its Goal is  to bring Veterans, of all ages, ranks, and services to gather in a very informal  causal and inviting setting, where Vets can talk with other Vets about their experiences, in a non-threating environment.  We normally meet between 9am and 1pm monthly.  Shoreline will be  on the 2nd Tuesday of the month. Our location is the Shoreline Scottish Rite Center.  Address: 1207 N. 152nd St. Shoreline, WA 98133.

The American Red Cross, Veterans Outreach is our partner with this Project. Betsy Roberson of the City is a Big supporter in establishing Hero’s Café of Shoreline. The Shoreline Veterans Association, which I am the Chair of, was established about 10 years ago to lobby the City to establish h a Veteran Recognition Plaza. That project was completed in 2017.  So its next anew project  is Hero’s Café of Shoreline. As a member of the Chamber now, we are reaching out to all the Businesses for monthly “hosting” of the free lunch for the Veterans that will be attending. For that donation, Each moth the “hosting” Business will be able to do a 10 min  “Commercial” about their business to the Veterans. The overall results in Hero’s Café is that where they were established, and the Veterans started to attending, the Veteran Suicides’  Rate in that are dropped significantly.
